Marty’s BBQ has a history over 40 years in the making and a rich memory that will forever live on. Named after the late Marty Ellis, beloved brother, uncle, and friend to many. Marty’s BBQ is located in Wilson, North Carolina known for some of the finest BBQ and antique places in the state. Marty’s is owned by the Ellis Family famous for eastern NC barbecue.
Marty’s BBQ first opened in February of 2018. What started as an idea by Lawrence Ellis, son of Bill Ellis (barbecue entrepreneur) and a building that was a boarded-up convenience store has now turned into a bustling restaurant. Lawrence has perfected the art of cooking bbq. The rich tradition and experience in managing a restaurant is clear. You can smell the pork bbq cooking from miles away. Cars line up every morning as soon as the doors open and don’t stop till the lights get turned out. Customers are met with the freshest BBQ, the yummiest fried chicken in town, and the best mouth-watering fixins in all of Eastern North Carolina.
